Board 8.1.2 Release Notes

Upgrade instructions

Board Client version 8.1.2 can connect to a server running Board Server 8.1.2 only, it is therefore required to update all Board Client and Office Add-in installations.

Capsules and databases created or modified with version 8.1.2 cannot be re-opened with version 8.1.1 (or prior).

Many unexpected behaviors on the Excel Add-in have been fixed.

Another important fix is the one on slow Datareaders: in 8.1.1 some datareaders were taking longer than expected, we identified the problem and solved it in 8.1.2

Fixes or minor changes

• WebClient. In some cases windows authentication was not working with SSO, this has been fixed;
• It was not possible to align text to the right in entity template, this problem has been resolved;
• When formatting borders in entity template, it could occur that borders were different from expected, bug fixed;
• Client was consuming lot of CPU after terminating a procedure, this behavior does not occur anymore in 8.1.2
• @Functions were not working on vertical layouts, problem solved;
• Pager: renamed the "Select Members" function in "Default Member";
• WebClient: Row template borders were not kept when drilling down, issue fixed;
• In security tab is now possible to disable the windows authentication to force SAML login;
• In flattened dataviews is now possible to set block width for every label column (one for each entity by row);
• Excel Add-In was freezing after opening two or more Excel workbook: problem solved;
• Web Server Configuration application has been renamed from "Server Configuration" to "Web Server Configuration";
• Date formats in tooltip inside calendar were ignoring regiona settings, issue fixed;
• When Drilling on a total it was not possible to export and change the layout, now this feature is available;
• Dataview buttons inside matrixes were not triggering gotoscreen procedures, issue fixed;
• Webclient: Second level entries of the menu object were not displayed correctly on the Webclient, issue fixed;
•  It was possible to flag check boxes even if dataentry was locked on the dataview, problem solved;
• With Office 2013, in some cases, layouts in Excel Add-in could not be saved, problem solved;
• In some cases, when saving a layout in Excel Add-in, a popup message "an error occurred" was causing corruption to the layout, problem solved;
• A new option in the dataview graphic options allows to disable the blue triangle of pattern based allocation (disable pattern based allocation at cell level);
• When inputting a huge number on a linked dataview, scroll-bars were jumping up, issue fixed;
• A new feature: "hide screen list" option in capsule properties is now hiding also navigation buttons (Back/Next/Home) on top right;
• Webclient: dataentry was failing in some special cases, this issue has been fixed, moreover performing a save data entry action from button does not show an unexpected popup anymore;
• Localization was not affecting "Graphical View" of the selector, issue fixed;
• Some dataviews were experiencing poor performance at daily level, issue fixed.
