Using a rule in a DataFlow

Rules can be used in DataFlow procedures. Applying a Rule to an InfoCube in a DataFlow calculates and stores the formula results in the InfoCube.  

To apply a Rule to an InfoCube in a Data Flow procedure:

• Create a procedure and define a Dataflow action,
•  Select the InfoCube on which the Rule is to be applied.
•  Select the target cube and formula in the dataflow target fields,

•  then go to the Functions tab and select the Rule name.

Note that Rules generally include algorithms or formulas which cannot be aggregated (for example percentages and ratios) it is therefore uncommon to apply Rules in DataFlow procedures.
