Click this option to enable data-entry on the data block.
Data entry can be enabled on blocks with
an InfoCube: to save a value (numerical or text) in the specified InfoCube,
a Column Algorithm: allows to save a value to an InfoCube by reversing the formula of the calculated column (refer to Reverse algorithm),
an Entity: allows to assign or change a hierarchical relationship
Note that activating this option alone is not sufficient to enable data entry; other conditions must be met:
The user must have an appropriate Board license and security privileges allowing write-back.
For text and date InfoCubes data-entry is supported only at physical level not at on aggregate views.
Data-entry is not permitted on MXC InfoCubes.
Time functions (such as Previous Year, Yearly Cumulated Valued and any other feature found in the Functions tab) and reference functions (such as Refer to, Detail by and any function found on the reference tab) cannot be defined on the data column.
If the Layout view is an aggregate view on the data-entry InfoCube, the DS&S (logical data-entry) feature must be enabled.
In conjunction with data-entry it is possible to set other features on a data block,
Reverse algorithm : allows to input a value on a calculated block and recalculates one of the factors of the formula.
Locked by : allows to lock or unlock data-entry on a cell.
Validation rule : defines a validation formula in order to accept or reject the input value.
Suggested value : allows to set a proposed input value which the user can accept or change.
