Create a new Capsule

To create a new Capsule, proceed as follows:

  1. From the Capsule browser or a folder, click the blue plus  contents/assets/images/add.capsule.icon.PNG button next to Capsules underneath the Top Menu. A dropdown menu will appear. Choose Capsule and a configuration popup window will appear

  2. Give your new Capsule a name, choose a Screen aspect ratio, and choose a default Data model

    The Capsule name must be unique and must not have already been used at the same folder level. The Capsule name cannot be longer than 189 characters and can include any Unicode characters except the following: \ / : * ? " < > | € The Capsule name cannot begin or end with a period and cannot be one of the following: - CON, PRN, AUX, NUL - COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9 - LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, LPT9   The Screen name can be any number of characters long and can include any Unicode characters except the following: \ / : * " < > |

  3. Customize the tile appearance (optional). On the right-hand side of the popup window, click on "CONFIGURE TILE" or choose "RANDOMIZE STYLE" for a tile color and icon to randomly be applied. Clicking on "CONFIGURE TILE" will open a new window.
    To customize the tile, follow these steps:

    1. Choose a color from the options available or click on the + symbol to choose more colors, type in a Hex color code and an Alpha code, or choose a color with the dropper icon

    2. Select an icon from the available choices, click the three dots for more icon choices, or add a custom image by uploading it to the Capsule's embedded images area or by selecting it from the Capsule's embedded images area

    3. Choose the tile size appearance: XS, S, M, L, XL

    4. Sparkline (optional). This option lets you set a Sparkline right on the tile by defining a Layout and a Select (optional) on the available Entities

    5. Footer (optional). This option lets you show a value on the footer of the tile by defining a Layout. If a Select is set for the Sparkline, it will also affect the footer value. Only a single value can be shown on this area

    6. Click "CREATE" to create your Capsule and open the Capsule to your Home Screen in Design mode, CANCEL to cancel, or "BACK" to go back to the first Capsule creation window

  4. Click "CREATE" and you will be taken to the Home Screen of your freshly created Capsule, in Design mode. You may now start developing your Screen as desired by dragging and dropping Screen Objects from the left Panel into the screen.
