Board Foresight

Board Foresight is now available as an enhancement to the Board Enterprise Planning Platform. This new capability introduces predictive analytics and scenario planning to help organizations improve forecast accuracy and drive more informed strategic decisions.

By integrating internal performance data with external signals, such as macroeconomic indicators and market trends, Board Foresight enables businesses to proactively anticipate outcomes and embed updated forecasts into their medium and long-term planning processes.

• External Driver Identification. Leverage macroeconomic and industry-specific indicators that influence business outcomes.

• Correlation Engine. Automatically analyze internal time-series data to surface the variables with the strongest predictive power.

Datasets

We are excited to introduce the new Dataset Object! This Object enables the Developer to create a semantic layer of data on top of the Layout Editor that enables end user self-service by providing a business centric or purpose specific view of the data and eliminating the need for end users to understand Data Models. Datasets are only available for users who are joint Board/Foresight customers.

Datasets allow developers to:

• Create structured, purpose-built queries

• Empower business users with self-service data exploration

• Reuse existing screen layouts as Datasets

Currently, Datasets are bound to the Board engine and rely on internal queries.

Using Datasets in Board

The purpose of a Dataset is to enable the sharing of specific data with other Board Functionalities.

For this reason, Datasets are not visible in Capsules or Screen Objects. All interactions that make use of the Dataset Object happen through other functionalities in Board.

Board Foresight

The purpose of a Dataset in Board Foresight is to enable the sharing of specific data with Foresight to enable the user to create a forecast which will then be returned to Board, automatically stored in a Cube and made available for the Developer to add to Screens.

• Enables secure, structured data sharing with Foresight.

• Forecasts are generated in Foresight, returned to Board, and stored in Cubes.

• Managed via two internal APIs:

  • Schema API: Defines structure.

  • Execution API: Handles data transfer.

• Data Models are abstracted from the API interface.
